The Daily Actions of Motivation

Every parent encourages their child to walk, to talk, to read, to pray and to thank God through grace for all that has come into their life. Gratitude is expressed in this country through the tradition of Thanksgiving. Through positive reinforcement we continually are reminded of what we are grateful for! If you are a regular at religious services then you are constantly reminded to thank God and the universe for everything and to pray for each other as well.

It is funny really when parents encourage their kids to walk and talk when babies and as teenagers tell them to sit down and be quiet. This unfortunate request has many ramifications that play a strong part in the development of an individual’s life to such a degree that long periods of time have to be put to use to reverse the damage of sit down and be quiet instructions or demands. Many managers do not acknowledge the potential in each of their co-workers and will not allow them or encourage them to be proactive. Fortunately this trend is diminishing as more attention is being given to actual teamwork and rewards are given as recognition for contributions to the common good of the company.

Selfless actions continue to be a daily occurrence and one wonders at the ability of the universe to permeate the busy attitude of today’s world inspiring someone somewhere to do a random act of kindness.

These acts of kindness often times encourage the recipient to pay it forward, therefore continuing the momentum of giving and inspiring others likewise.

Motivation comes in many forms; sometimes we are self motivated and then other times it takes something or someone else to motivate us to do something. Whatever form this motivation comes in is reflected in the results of the actions taken on the message given.

Ones mind has to be open, for example one person may read Think and Grow Rich at age 18 and be inspired to achieve great things, another person may also read it at age 18 and do absolutely nothing until years later they once more read the book and this time are inspired to achieve their potential. Timing for each person is different, like creating a delicious recipe there are different approaches to each ingredient and some one may mix together while others are kept apart until it is time to bring the complete package together. Then the results of an exquisite delight that invigorates the palate is created and enjoyed. Each of us is the same and we all have our time if we are open to receive it and have placed ourselves in line with receiving the gifts from God and the universe. If not then that message goes on towards someone who is alert and receptive.

James Ray in The Secret shows the example of patience and when if after a certain period we feel it does not work and therefore we stop pronouncing that this does not work, the universe also responds and closes its doors to you. How many times have we heard of someone who knocked on doors for eons and eventually succeeded when others had backed away and failed to live their dreams. Sometimes it is good to back away and reflect on a different approach or approaches, carrying on with something else but in the back of your mind your dream is flourishing or being kept warm awaiting the moment when you are in harmony with events around you and your time becomes NOW. The theatrical world is the greatest example of such occurrences.

Changing directions is good, do not knock it and keep on going no matter what.

The message in The Secret is not new and so many cynics look at it and think it is all a bunch of nonsense. They need to read the bible and absorb the messages within.

The Secret recommends or suggest that we a) ask!
The bible says: ask and you will receive!
The Secret recommends that we b) believe.
The bible says believe you will move mountains and you will.
The Secret recommends that you feel as if you have already received it.The bible says: to give thanks for receiving it. Matthew 7:7-8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

The Secret encourages commencing all thoughts and actions with gratitude. All throughout the bible we are encouraged to give thanks to God e.g Psalm 100:

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth
Worship the Lord with gladness
Come before Him with joyful songs.

The basic message here is a common one of faith and as faith will move mountains so too will motivation for a higher purpose.
