Out of the roads of this city the roads namely high ways are considerably well known roads for certain reasons. The high ways have been prepared and finished very professionally and have all the helpful signs etc. for the convenience of the passengers.
Due to the positivity of the high ways these are selected by the passengers for travelling when required therefore these are too much busy roads. Some time due to the rush the passengers have to face the problem like traffic jam. There are several road links in the Lagos including the highways and bridges, the parts of the Lagos road network. Internal/local roads of the city are very busy roads due to a considerable load of the traffic. As so consecutive usage causes the damages to the roads, some internal roads of Lagos require the repairing/have bad condition.
The Lagos-lbadan expressway and the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway situated in the North region of Lagos are two major highways of Lagos. Both the highways links the Lagos city to Oyo and Ogun. Commonly these high ways are used as local roads.
While talking about the commercial highways, the Lagos is a hard commercial city and of course as regards to the commercial highways the Lagos is not less than other big commercial cities. As per its location the Lagos is naturally commercial because the highway of Lagos , at its end, join the Trans-African Highway routers. It is therefore, it can be named as the national road of Nigeria.
The state of Lagos provided a bus service known as “bus rapid transit” to facilitate the citizens. This bus service is available at eight routes of the city. One route of this service is 12 miles long. Bus rapid transit was completed in respects in the year 2008. To meet the situation Lagos state also provided rail service which is partially working and up till 2012 it is expected to be completed in all respect. The rail service available so for is more comfortable to the travelers as compared to the road service. The remaining work of the rail service is under progress.
A traveling corporation namely Lagos State of ferry service Corporation started the ferry service on few routes of the city. In Lagos private boats service is also available for the passengers who are needy for the same for their journey but the usage of these boats is an occasional one. To use the routes, the relevant corporation has to get permission from the Lagos state.
So for as the air transportation of the Lagos in concerned, the Murtala Mohammed international airport may be mentioned. As, a big city should has an airport having all the facilities for the passengers, the Murtala Mohammed international airport has entire qualities of a good airport. This airport has both the domestic and international terminals offering all the latest facilities for the passengers .
