Madam Blavatsky devoted her life to Theosophy and the society she helped to create. Offering all her hopes, money, reputation and her life itself for the sake of Theosophy, Madam Blavatsky promulgated the spread of divine wisdom across the entire globe at the very time when many stood in opposition against the Theosophical Movement. Her dream of a united and prosperous Theosophical Society looked impossible of attainment in those early days, but she was determined that the beginnings of a small nucleus would develop in time to be a great force for good in the future.
Divine Wisdom has been known by many other names: Ancient Wisdom, the Wisdom Religion, Esoteric Philosophy, Perennial Philosophy, Gupta Vidya, and Occult Science. All these phrases indicate theosophia is not a faith formulated by an individual, nor a religion in the usual meaning of the term (signifying solemnized worship and ritual). Instead, it is the accumulated wisdom of countless ages that has been methodically checked by generations of sages worldwide.
One of the messages Madam Blavatsky delivered to our world was this: "No aspect, no principle and no law can be properly considered in isolation: the Universe and all that is in it constitute a WHOLE." These propositions form the basis of the doctrines of Divine Wisdom. Innumerable generations of sages have tested those doctrines theoretically as well as practically. But it was Madam Blavatsky who gathered the assorted and scattered fragments of these doctrines into a rational, coherent system of knowledge and made it accessible for the first time to the Western world. HPB’s message of spiritual upliftment and universal brotherhood is a priceless gift to Humankind to be achieved by the knowledge of the eternal verities inherent in our own being. All spiritual teachers are messengers of this god-like wisdom; as they impart knowledge, it is up to us how to use this sublime gift to uplift ourselves and our fellow travelers on The Path. As H. P. Blavatsky once said, "I can tell you how to find Those who will show you the secret gateway that leads inward only, and closes fast behind the neophyte for evermore. For those who win onwards, there is reward past all telling: the power to bless and save humanity. For those who fail, there are other lives in which success may come."
