Lip balms are made out of a variety of different ingredients depending on the brand name and the overall effectiveness of them. Some of the ingredients that do the trick include bees wax, menthol, scented oils and camphor. Other ingredients to look for include oils such as vegetable oils (olive or almond oil), alum, salicylic acid and vitamins.
Sun Screen Sheen
Finally, the most important thing when looking for lip balm care is protection from the sun and the other harsh environmental factors such as cold and wind. Lips can get sunburned just like the rest of your skin. However, you don’t want to have to put sun block all over your lips. Yuck! Lip balm acts as sun block for your lips, without that disgusting sun screen taste.
