Philippines is UK’s Best for the 2nd Time

When it comes to excellent performance in the BPO industry, there is no question that Philippines would be at the top of the list. With various recognitions from outsourcing and offshore associations worldwide, it is more than enough of a proof that Philippines is indeed one of the leading countries outsourcing resources and services to foreign nations.

In the 4th National Outsourcing Association Awards, Philippines won as the 2009 Offshoring Destination of the Year category. The awarding ceremony was held at the Park Plaza Riverbank in London last October 15.

This is the 2nd time that Philippines bagged the same award (first time in 2007), this time besting Egypt, Malaysia, Russia and Sri Lanka.

This recognition speaks much of the quality outsourcing services that the country has to offer. This is a great factor since NOA represents different outsourcing end users, vendors, and other outsourcing companies or companies who very much support outsourcing.

NOA, as an outsourcing association, also gives recognition to individuals or companies who excel in outsourcing.

Commission on Information and Communications (CICT) Secretary Ray Anthony Roxas-Chua III congratulated all the sectors that made this possible adding that the recognition only proved that Philippines can provide world-class quality when it comes to outsourcing services.
Although Philippines is just second to India, being second best is not that bad at all. The country doesn’t really need much on high praises and not merely doing the talk – also doing the walk. The recognitions that the country received is enough to do the talking as a proof of that excellence.

The country has made and is doing efforts to improve the quality of services that the BPO companies in the Philippines render to foreign investors. Seminars and conventions have been made and schools are having tie-ups with these companies to assure and secure quality resources for the future of the BPO industry. It is because the government has seen a big potential on this industry.

With the US dollars that the country’s BPO industry generate, 6.1 billion in 2008, and with the high employment rate (400,000 employed workers), this growing industry have done much to catch the country’s falling economy. A good-enough safety net for a 3rd world country.
