Are Your Kids Ready For School Yet

Do you have a kid who is about to start school? Most parents look at this as a problem especially if the kids are too attached to them. They worry about their kids not wanting to be left alone at school.

School And Day Care Environment

This is a common case among parents with little kids who are about to start kindergarten. The solution is to expose kids to school environment. What does a school environment looks and feels like? In school, there are no parents. Kids should learn to spend hours without their mommy or daddy. In school, there are rules and instructions to follow. Kids will start learning about a lot of things. They will be asked to mingle with other kids. They will do things on their own or as a group.

This kind of environment can be pretty strange for other kids. To expose them to this kind of environment, you should consider putting your kids in day care. You can just put them there for a couple of hours every day. This is just to get them used to school environment. While a day care is not really a school, it is still a centre for early learning. In day care centres, staffs don’t just watch the kids the whole day. They actually involve children in activities that promote early learning.

Helping Kids Get Ready For School

Day care centres has an environment very close to that of actual schools. Firstly, parents will not be in day care. The children will learn how to be separated from parents. Day care is a positive reinforcement to separation anxiety. Because day care has activities that are fun for children, the children will not think of the separation as a bad thing. They will learn to be independent without being anxious, afraid or sad.

Secondly, your child will enjoy mingling with kids their age. In school, they will meet kids of the same age like them. This is the case in day care as well. Children learn to socialize with other kids. They will find it easier to be friends with other kids if they have experienced having friends already. They won’t find it hard to work as a group because any inhibitions in dealing with other kids are already gone.

Independence and socialization are two biggest factors that influence your child’s readiness for school. These are both developed in day care centres.
