The company La Escuela del Sol offers not only classes in surfing but will combine the class with teaching lessons in the Spanish language as well. If you plan on staying in Costa Rica for more than a few days, this class is an excellent way to communicate your needs and wants around the many cities.
You are offered your choice of Spanish and surfing classes for beginners for the costa rica surf camp as well as intermediate and advanced. You are given instruction in the classroom first for 2 hours a day for an entire week and then 2 hours outside on the sand, learning how to balance on a surf board and the proper ways to stand. The instructor will also be teaching you the many Spanish words and phrases not only for the equipment and positions that you will be learning, but also other conversational terms, words etc. that will be helpful while you are staying in this beautiful country.
The Spanish lessons and surfing course come with everything that you will need to get started. You are provided with books and material, surf board rental and a few added bonuses that you won't find at other facilities. During your program, you will be given a guided hike near a waterfall, plus accommodations at La Escuela del Sol. If you feel that you need more time in the costa rica surf camp, you receive additional bonuses for example the ability to take a zip line tour or guided horse back riding tours to secluded waterfall areas around Costa Rica.
Your class can be formulated and designed around your needs and concerns. If you are afraid of the water and feel that you only want to take a lesson in Spanish, this can be done. Already speak Spanish, this is okay as well, La Escuela del Sol has classes that are specifically designed around just surfing for beginners, intermediate and advanced as well. But, if you feel you need to brush up on your Spanish, it is probably a good idea to be sure to enroll in the costa rica surf camp.
